The Pyramid mindset

Whenever you are at a door that doesn’t seem to be opening up for you, think about the pyramid perspective mindset.

It is understanding that the journey’s difficulty is inversely proportional to the number of people who will reach the top.

As you climb higher, the pyramid gets narrower. And when difficulties show up, it is easy for the majority of people to give up. Effectively, the crowd gets thinner and thinner towards the next level. The higher up you get, the harder the journey, the harder the challenges you face. There are fewer people to compete with. So the rewards are bigger. Hurdles are part of the journey to the top. Everyone who is growing is going to fail at some point. What you do after failing is what differentiates the successful people from the rest.

For every reason why it’s not possible, they’re thousands of people who have faced the same circumstances and succeeded. - from the book How to Get From Where You Are to Where Your Want To Be, Jack Canfield

This is correct if everyone is playing the same game to the same rules. Most people don’t even know there is a game.
