Success

Success is continuously improving who you are, how you live, how you serve, and how you relate. And that takes work.

The more successful you become  —  which is balancing the few essential things (spiritual, relational, financial, physical) in your life and removing everything else - the less you can justify low quality. “You cannot overestimate the unimportance of practically everything.” - Greg McKeown

Success means accomplishments as the result of our own efforts and abilities. Proper preparation is the key to our success. Our acts can be no wiser than our thoughts. Our thinking can be no wiser than our understanding. - The richest man in Babylon

The learn-value cycle - the only mindset you need for success

Ask a kid what he wants to do when he grows up. What do you hear? I want to change the world. Thats great. But at some point, that all changes. Ask the same kid when he is older. What does he say? I want a 401K plan, 6-week paid vacation, maybe even snacks in the breakroom. Wow. What happened? We are all taught the same paradigm. Learn just enough to look good enough to be hired by someone else. Your life force disappers into nothing but a monthly paycheck. Thats ok for now because we all need money to survive. But to stay here all your life, well, thats just too bad. Who wants to be another cog in the machine, easily bought, easily replaced? Is that what our life amounts to? Is that all the value we bring to the table in this world? This is the uninspired learn-earn cycle. To get out of the cycle, we have to adopt a new mindset.

The learn-value cycle. Your worth in this world is not just your paycheck; but your ability to generate value in this world. Not just value for your boss but value for your neighbor, your community, for the world.

Don’t know how to do it? Then learn with a new purpose and then provide. Thats how we become the best version of ourselves. Thats how we change the world.

Get to it.
